Sahibzada Farhan Stars with a Match-Winning Knock

The highlight of Pakistan’s chase was Sahibzada Farhan, who played a brilliant knock of 80 runs off just 45 balls. His powerful innings, which included 5 sixes and 5 boundaries, was the foundation of Pakistan’s successful run chase. Farhan’s composed batting ensured the team stayed on course to win.

Other Contributions in Pakistan’s Chase

Saim Ayub added 20 runs to the total, while Babar Azam contributed 16 runs. However, Pakistan’s captain Salman Ali Agha had a rare failure, dismissed for a duck. Osman Khan remained not out on 5 runs, helping Farhan seal the win with ease.

Sri Lanka’s Batting Struggles

Earlier, Sri Lanka, after winning the toss and opting to bat, struggled to build partnerships. They posted a modest total of 128/7 in their 20 overs. Janith Liyanage fought hard, remaining not out on 41 runs, while Kusal Perera scored 25 and Kamindu Mendis made 22 runs.

Pakistan’s Bowlers Lead the Charge

Pakistan’s bowlers were exceptional, keeping Sri Lanka’s batting under control. Mohammad Nawaz was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 wickets, while Salman Mirza, Faheem Ashraf, and Abrar Ahmed each took a wicket. Nawaz’s tight bowling in the middle overs proved crucial in limiting Sri Lanka’s total.

Pakistan Ascends to the Top of the Points Table

With this commanding win, Pakistan moved to the top of the points table in the Tri-Nation Series. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka remains at the bottom, still looking for their first win in the tournament.
