Sydney: Initial reports from Indian media mistakenly identified the attackers as Pakistani nationals, but investigations later revealed that they were actually Indian citizens.
Following the attack, anti-Pakistan propaganda spread across India, with an innocent Pakistani’s photo, that of Naveed Akram, being falsely linked to the incident. Naveed Akram denied these claims and expressed concern for his safety. “The Guardian” also debunked the false accusations made by Indian media.
This incident highlights the dangers of misinformation and how quickly it can escalate tensions between countries.
