Rawalpindi : Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reiterated that any violation of Pakistan’s territorial integrity, whether direct or indirect, will be met with a firm and decisive response.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the CDF made these remarks during his interaction with participants at the 18th National Workshop on Balochistan in Rawalpindi today.
The Field Marshal emphasized the commitment of the Pakistan Armed Forces to safeguard the lives and well-being of the nation’s citizens, reaffirming the military’s resolve in ensuring national security.
He praised the resilience and patriotism of the people of Balochistan, recognizing the province’s strategic significance for Pakistan’s prosperity and overall development.
Field Marshal Munir lauded the comprehensive initiatives being carried out by both the federal and provincial governments. He highlighted their people-centered approach, which aims to improve the socio-economic conditions in the region and unlock Balochistan’s vast economic potential for the benefit of its people.
He also acknowledged the positive role of civil society, particularly in countering propaganda and misinformation, and emphasized their crucial involvement in sustainable development.
The COAS urged all stakeholders to reject short-sighted political agendas, ensuring that Balochistan’s future is shaped by lasting prosperity for all its residents.
Speaking on security challenges, the Field Marshal pointed out that Indian-backed proxies continue to fuel violence and hinder development in Balochistan. He reassured that these hostile activities would be confronted with stern action by security forces, aimed at eradicating terrorism and instability from the province.
The workshop, which focused on Balochistan’s socio-economic development and its strategic importance for Pakistan, concluded with an interactive Q&A session. During this, Field Marshal Munir addressed various questions and provided further insights into the ongoing efforts to promote peace, security, and development in the region.
