Washington, Kabul : Recent reports indicate that Al-Qaeda and other militant groups are reorganizing in Afghanistan under the oversight of the Taliban government.
A report by the U.S.-based outlet Just the News has raised alarm over the potential regional and international security risks posed by this development.
According to the report, the Taliban continue to maintain close ties with Al-Qaeda, heightening fears that Afghanistan could once again serve as a base for international terrorism.
The findings suggest that the Taliban have provided Al-Qaeda with safe havens across the country, enabling the group to operate with minimal restrictions. Additionally, the report claims that the two entities are exchanging logistical and operational support.
Analysts warn that the continued presence of Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, coupled with what is described as overt backing from the Taliban, poses serious threats not only to neighboring nations but also to global stability.
Security experts emphasize that any assistance to extremist organizations would breach previous commitments made by the Taliban to the international community. The report also underscores concerns that terrorist networks in Afghanistan may be strengthening, potentially increasing the likelihood of future large-scale security or humanitarian crises.
