Islamabad: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has arrived in Tehran carrying what sources described as an important message from Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei.
According to Iran’s official news agency IRNA, the development was reported by a source familiar with the matter.
The source said the visit follows a series of high-level consultations in Islamabad, including meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, which underscored the significance of the trip amid ongoing regional diplomatic activity.
It was stated that Naqvi has been tasked with personally delivering the message from the Pakistan Army Chief to the Iranian leadership during his stay in Tehran, reflecting continued high-level engagement between the two neighbouring countries.
The report further noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also provided the interior minister with specific guidance regarding Pakistan’s position on ongoing Iran–United States diplomatic developments.
Diplomatic observers are closely monitoring the visit, as Pakistan and Iran remain engaged on a range of bilateral and regional issues, including security coordination and broader geopolitical matters.
While details of the message have not been disclosed, the visit is being viewed as part of sustained communication between the leadership of both countries during a period of heightened regional diplomatic activity.
