JD Vance says US-Iran talks moving forward, Sunday meeting possible

Washington : US Vice President JD Vance has said that discussions with Iran are moving in a positive direction and that a new round of talks could take place on Sunday.

In an interview, Vance said that Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are currently in Switzerland, where negotiations with Iranian officials are underway, adding that engagement with Tehran is “going well.”

He noted that he may also visit Switzerland in the coming days and expressed hope that the current ceasefire situation can be sustained.

Vance further stated that the United States is giving diplomacy a fair chance and emphasized that there is no evidence suggesting Iran is planning to close the Strait of Hormuz.
