Rawalpindi: In a recent briefing with journalists, Director General of ISPR, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, reaffirmed the military’s position of staying out of politics, stressing the importance of keeping the armed forces distanced from political affairs. He also emphasized that Pakistan is fully sovereign in its decision-making and policy formation.
Addressing ongoing military operations, Lieutenant General Chaudhry reported that a total of 1,667 militants have been neutralized in the campaign against the Kharijite insurgents.
On the issue of the Gaza conflict and any potential military involvement, he clarified that all decisions regarding military actions would be made by the government and the parliament. He concluded by stating that Pakistan is always prepared to safeguard its borders and protect its people.
