Lahore : Two new cases of Monkeypox have been confirmed in Lahore, intensifying concerns about the growing spread of the virus. In the last 24 hours, two individuals were diagnosed with the disease.
The patients, a 28-year-old named Shahid and a 35-year-old named Rubina, are currently receiving treatment at Mayo Hospital. Laboratory tests have confirmed the presence of Monkeypox in both individuals.
Both patients have no travel history, raising alarm about local transmission of the virus. This development suggests that the virus is now being transmitted within the community, further escalating concerns about its spread in urban areas.
The Specialized Health Department has yet to establish proper isolation facilities for the affected patients, which poses additional challenges in controlling the outbreak.
With the virus now spreading locally, the situation is becoming increasingly critical, and authorities are working to implement measures to contain the transmission and prevent further cases.
