Indian Air Chief’s Claim of Downing Pakistani Jets Questioned by Indian Defense Analyst

The Indian Air Force Chief, Air Marshal A.P. Singh, had claimed three months ago during a four-day conflict that India shot down six Pakistani aircraft, including five fighter jets. However, a prominent Indian defense analyst, Praveen Sahni, has now raised serious doubts about these assertions.

In a recent interview, Sahni questioned why, if a Pakistani F-16 was indeed shot down, no evidence had been presented even after three months. He noted that if Indian forces had targeted Pakistani jets in the air or on the ground, the world would have seen clear proof such as videos, photos, or satellite imagery by now.

Sahni criticized the Indian Air Chief’s claims, asking where the wreckage or any tangible evidence is, emphasizing that so far, these remain unsubstantiated verbal claims without official press conferences or documented proof.

His remarks have sparked internal criticism within India and cast a shadow over the credibility of the Modi government’s narrative, while internationally, these claims are being viewed with skepticism.
