ISLAMABAD: Tensions between Iran and Israel intensified as both countries launched new attacks amid a collapsing diplomatic climate and stalled nuclear negotiations.
Just a day after Tehran declared it would not engage in nuclear talks while facing external threats, the region witnessed a dangerous exchange of missile fire.
The latest confrontation raises global concerns about regional stability and the future of diplomatic efforts led by European powers.
Missile Strikes Shake Region
At approximately 2:30am local time in Israel (4:30am PKT), air raid sirens echoed across central Israel, including Tel Aviv and the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
The Israeli military reported an incoming barrage of missiles from Iran, prompting visible interceptions in the night sky over Tel Aviv.
Explosions were heard across the area as Israel’s air defense systems were activated in full force.
Simultaneously, Israel launched counter-strikes targeting missile storage and launch infrastructure inside Iran.
No Immediate Casualties Reported
According to Magen David Adom, Israel’s national emergency service, additional sirens were triggered in southern Israel.
An Israeli military official confirmed that five ballistic missiles were launched by Iran, but there were no immediate signs of impact or casualties.
Both sides have remained tight-lipped about the full scope of the damage, while international observers call for restraint to prevent a wider conflict.
