ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), through its National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC), has issued a nationwide monsoon alert from June 29 to July 5, warning of heavy rainfall, flash floods, landslides, and urban flooding across several regions of Pakistan.
Northern Areas, KP, and Punjab at High Risk
The advisory highlights serious weather threats in Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Islamabad, along with northern zones including Murree, Galiyat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Balakot, and Haripur.
These areas may experience landslides and dangerously high water levels in local streams.
Urban flooding poses a serious threat to cities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Swat, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Chitral, Kohat, DI Khan, and Bannu. Rising flows in the Swat and Kabul Rivers could further increase flood danger.
Punjab’s northern and central districts, including Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Kasur, are likely to be hit by intense downpours, potentially inundating low-lying and poorly drained areas.
Sindh, Urban Flooding Expected July 2–5
In Sindh, the alert window spans July 2 to 5, affecting cities such as Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Dadu, and Jamshoro. These regions may see severe rainfall, stormy weather, and urban flooding, raising concerns over public safety and infrastructure resilience.

-
Flash floods in Hazara, Malakand, Azad Kashmir, and the Pir Panjal range
