Islamabad :Inflation in Pakistan has begun to accelerate once again, with the weekly inflation rate increasing by 0.95 percent, according to the latest report from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
The bureau’s weekly inflation report indicates that the annual inflation rate currently stands at a negative 1.23 percent. Over the past week, prices of 19 essential items increased, while 6 items became cheaper, and the prices of 26 items remained stable.
Items that saw a price hike include sugar, jaggery, tomatoes, onions, eggs, yogurt, and mung beans. Meanwhile, the prices of bread, beef, mutton, salt, and tea leaves remained unchanged.
The recent rise in inflation has renewed concerns about the cost of living and its impact on households across the country.
