16-Year-Old Amna Shigri conquers 7,027-meter-high spantik peak, makes history

Shigar: Amna Shigri, a young mountaineer from Shigar, has achieved a remarkable feat by scaling the 7,027-meter-high Spantik Peak. She accomplished this challenging climb alongside her fellow climber, Mehboob Ali.

Upon reaching the summit, Amna proudly hoisted the national flag of Pakistan, symbolizing her patriotism and dedication. With this achievement, she became the first woman from Shigar to successfully climb a peak over 7,000 meters.

Previously, Amna had also scaled the 6,000-meter-high Khosar Gang peak and has been a member of the K2 expedition team.

Expressing her aspirations, Amna said, “I dedicate this success to Pakistan. My dream is to raise the green and white flag on K2, the world’s second highest peak.”
