ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Sunday, during which both leaders voiced grave concern over the worsening regional situation.
The call came in the wake of Israel’s continued and “unjustified” military actions against Iran, which both countries strongly condemned.
They expressed deep anguish at the escalating hostilities, warning that such aggression not only violated international norms but also threatened the overall stability of the region.
Joint Diplomatic Engagement
Deputy Prime Minister Dar also confirmed his upcoming visit to Istanbul.
He will participate in two significant events: the meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers and a ceremony at the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum honoring Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The move underscores Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to regional diplomacy and Muslim unity during times of crisis.
Call for Collective International Response
Earlier, on Saturday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Erdogan also exchanged views on the crisis.
They agreed that Israel’s strikes were in violation of Iran’s sovereignty and a breach of the United Nations Charter.
The leaders emphasized that such actions jeopardize global and regional peace.
Both nations reiterated their support for the Palestinian people and called for urgent international intervention.
They urged the global community and the United Nations to take immediate and unified action to halt the aggression and restore stability in the region.
