Punjab to Replace Sehat Card with Specialized Health Programs

ISLAMABAD: The Punjab government has announced the discontinuation of the Sehat Card scheme in all government hospitals across the province, effective June 30.

The Sehat Card, launched during the PTI government, provided eligible citizens with free healthcare at public and private hospitals.

Following a notification from the Sehat Card Company, all related services will cease after the deadline.

New Specialized Health Cards for Critical Care

Punjab will introduce new health cards focused on specialized and critical medical treatments.

These include cards for cornea, cochlear, and bone marrow transplants, as well as programs targeting dialysis, kidney, and liver transplants.

Additionally, a Child Card Surgery program will support children requiring heart surgeries.

Continued Medical Support Assured

The Health Department assures the public that the transition will not disrupt access to medical care.

The new program aims to provide more targeted, need-based services for serious and high-cost treatments.

This shift reflects Punjab’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery through focused and efficient support.
