Islamabad: Former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed, who was part of the Gaza aid flotilla, arrived in Islamabad today following his release from Israeli custody.
Mushtaq Ahmed was detained by Israeli authorities last week during their interception of the flotilla. After his release, he traveled to Jordan and then flew back to Pakistan today via Gulf Airlines.
The Pakistani Embassy announced on social media that Mushtaq Ahmed has safely returned home.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar contacted Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ayman Safadi to express gratitude for the assistance provided.
Israel had attacked the Freedom Flotilla and seized three ships carrying humanitarian aid.
