Peshawar: Pakistan Muslim League (N) provincial president and Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Engineer Amir Muqam, has indicated that a change in the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is possible. He stated that the opposition, with a strong alliance of 53 assembly members, can alter the political landscape of the province by proving their majority at the appropriate time.
Speaking at the residence of Haji Dildar Khan, Additional General Secretary of PML-N KP, while offering condolences on the demise of his brother, Amir Muqam said that the PML-N leadership is open to negotiations with other opposition parties. However, he criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for being unwilling to engage in dialogue.
He also commented on the ongoing court cases against former Prime Minister Imran Khan, saying that he should face the legal process rather than using political platforms.
Regarding the May 9 incidents, Amir Muqam distanced PML-N from the related cases and expressed readiness for collective efforts aimed at national interests. He condemned PTI’s protest on Kashmir Solidarity Day as inappropriate and claimed that the public has rejected the party’s stance.
Amir Muqam accused PTI’s leadership of attempting to create unrest in the country to please foreign adversaries, including India and Israel. He assured that the PML-N-led federal government will observe Independence Day with dignity and unity alongside the Pakistan Armed Forces.
Concluding his remarks, Amir Muqam emphasized that the people of Pakistan have consistently supported PML-N for their patriotism and are expected to continue backing the party in future elections.
