Pakistan objects to the appointment of Andy Pycroft as match referee

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has requested the International Cricket Council (ICC) not to appoint Andy Pycroft as the match referee for the upcoming home series against South Africa, scheduled for next month.

According to sources, the PCB has formally written to the ICC, stating that Pycroft’s appointment would be unacceptable.

The board’s objection stems from certain decisions made by Andy Pycroft during the Asia Cup, which Pakistan found controversial. The PCB had expressed concerns over his officiating during the tournament, and those concerns have led to the current stance.

South Africa is set to tour Pakistan next month for a full series, which includes matches across all three formats — Tests, One Day Internationals, and T20 Internationals.
