Flood crisis escalates: Pakistan army intensifies relief efforts in southern Punjab affected areas

Lahore: Floodwaters have wreaked havoc across multiple districts in southern Punjab, creating dire conditions for residents. In response, the Pakistan Army along with local government agencies are conducting large-scale rescue missions and relief distribution to assist those affected.

At the Ganda Singh Wala point on the Sutlej River, water levels are climbing rapidly, forcing authorities to evacuate populations from vulnerable areas to ensure their safety.

In the Sahiwal district, the overflowing Ravi River has inundated 49 villages. To safeguard civilians and their belongings, 30 emergency camps have been set up by the military and district officials. These camps are offering essential supplies, including food, healthcare, and temporary accommodation.

In Khanewal, flooding around Head Sidhnai caused severe damage to the Pul Rango bund, but quick restoration efforts have successfully repaired the structure and reopened it for use.

All concerned departments remain vigilant, continuously tracking the flood situation and preparing for swift action to mitigate any further impact.
