US halts Iran attack plans as Trump signals possible agreement

Washington (Web Desk): US President Donald Trump has said that a planned military operation against Iran has been put on hold, a move that may help ease rising tensions in the region.

As reported by Reuters, the US President stated that the previously considered strikes on Iran have been suspended for now.

Earlier, Trump had suggested that Washington might take stronger action against Iran, making remarks about key Iranian energy infrastructure, including Kharg Island and other important oil and gas facilities, which had already heightened regional concerns.

Iran reacted strongly to these comments, warning that any attack on Kharg Island or other strategic sites would be met with a firm and forceful response.

Ebrahim Azizi, head of Iran’s parliamentary National Security Committee, said that Iranian armed forces are fully prepared to defend the country and safeguard Kharg Island, adding that they are capable of responding effectively to any act of aggression.

Following Trump’s latest statement, the development is being viewed as an important shift, while the overall situation in the region remains under close observation.
