California : OpenAI, the leading artificial intelligence firm, has launched a groundbreaking web browser called “ChatGPT Atlas”, powered by its well-known chatbot, ChatGPT.
According to technology websites, this innovative browser integrates ChatGPT to assist users with a variety of tasks while navigating the internet.
OpenAI emphasizes that Atlas is more than just a web browser—it acts as an intelligent companion, designed to deliver a smoother, more intuitive browsing experience. Its aim is to make the internet not only a place to access information but also a platform for deeper understanding and interaction.
Rather than relying on traditional search bars or links, users can now ask ChatGPT directly to summarize a webpage, compare products, book flight tickets, or extract key points from an article.
An “Ask ChatGPT” button is available on websites, enabling users to start a conversation about the page’s content.
One of the browser’s standout features is its ability to retain previous interactions, offering personalized recommendations over time. Additionally, users have full control over their data, with the option to either keep or delete it as they wish.
The ChatGPT Atlas browser also allows ChatGPT to handle tasks like purchasing items, booking flights, and scheduling appointments—functions that are currently exclusive to ChatGPT Plus and Pro users.
A sidebar on webpages powered by ChatGPT offers summaries and clarifies information to improve the browsing experience.
OpenAI asserts that ChatGPT Atlas presents a challenge to conventional browsers like Google Chrome, as it provides an entirely different way of browsing the web, moving beyond just a search engine.
Currently available for macOS, ChatGPT Atlas will soon be available on Windows, iOS, and Android.
