Bajaur : In a decisive operation against Khawarij elements, security forces have successfully dismantled a network of militant hideouts and tunnels in the Shahi Tangi forest, sources confirmed on Wednesday.
Acting on precise intelligence, security forces targeted a cave believed to be used by the militants. During the operation, a heavy exchange of gunfire ensued, resulting in the death of one Khawarij militant. Several others sustained injuries but managed to escape the scene.
Following the engagement, the troops conducted a comprehensive clearance operation of the tunnels and surrounding forest areas. In addition, the security forces recovered a significant cache of weapons, explosive devices, and communication equipment that the militants had been using.
This successful operation marks another important step in combating terrorism and ensuring the security of the region.
