Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar has accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and imprisoned leader Imran Khan of facilitating the return of terrorists and providing them political cover during his government’s tenure. According to Tarar, the National Action Plan was dismantled, giving hostile elements an opportunity to reorganize.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, the Information Minister stated, “The person sitting in jail is the chief sponsor of terrorists, and the PTI group acts as facilitators for these terrorists.” He criticized the former government for neglecting national security concerns and encouraging dangerous tendencies.
Tarar further alleged that Suhail Afridi was appointed Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa because he is a close associate of the wanted individual Murad Saeed and harbors sympathies for terrorists. He claimed that Ali Amin Gandapur was removed because he failed to fully facilitate terrorists.
The Minister pointed out that Imran Khan’s past statements, recorded on official records, show his support for negotiations with extremist elements. He emphasized that those attacking schools, mosques, and civilians do not deserve any leniency.
He clarified that the country’s security policy will be formulated solely in Islamabad, not in Afghanistan, and said the narrative against state institutions has completely failed.
Atta Tarar hailed the recent UK court ruling as a victory for Pakistan’s stance, asserting that it proves anti-state conspiracies have failed at the international level as well.
Concluding the press conference, the Information Minister paid tribute to the country’s martyrs, stating that the nation takes pride in their sacrifices and will continue to carry forward their mission at all costs.
