Oman, UAE raise concerns over Iran conflict, call for ceasefire

Dubai/Muscat (Web Desk): Oman’s Foreign Minister has condemned the military operations carried out by Israel and the United States against Iran, calling them both immoral and unlawful. Speaking at an emergency Arab League meeting, he also expressed regret over Iran’s retaliatory strikes on neighboring countries and urged all parties to agree to a ceasefire and pursue diplomatic negotiations.

The Omani minister warned that the region is at a critical juncture, with ongoing military activity posing serious risks to regional stability, maritime trade routes, global supply chains, and the broader international economy.

Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs voiced concern over civilian casualties caused by Iran’s attacks. The UAE highlighted that these strikes violate international law and the sovereignty of nations.

While reiterating that it does not seek involvement in the conflict, the UAE stressed its right to take any measures necessary to safeguard national security and territorial integrity. According to UAE officials, Iran has launched over 1,400 drones, causing multiple civilian deaths and injuries.
