Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Maldives Foreign Minister Dr. Iruthisham Adam, during which the two leaders discussed bilateral ties and key regional and global developments.
During the call, Dar congratulated his Maldivian counterpart in advance on the 61st Independence Day of the Maldives and conveyed his best wishes to the people and government of the island nation.
The two foreign ministers exchanged views on recent regional and international issues and reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and the Maldives.
They also agreed to remain in close contact and continue regular consultations on issues of mutual interest.
Dr. Iruthisham Adam commended Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts and acknowledged its role in helping ease tensions between Iran and the United States.
