Post-Hajj Flights Continue Smoothly Despite Global Disruptions

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has confirmed that Pakistan’s post-Hajj repatriation process is progressing efficiently, despite widespread disruptions in global air traffic.

According to Ministry spokesperson Muhammad Umar Butt, 11,418 Pakistani pilgrims have returned home from Saudi Arabia as of June 14.

On Sunday alone, 4,995 pilgrims arrived in Pakistan through 20 scheduled flights, which landed across five major cities.

The breakdown of Sunday’s flight arrivals includes six each in Islamabad and Lahore, four in Karachi, three in Multan, and one in Quetta.

This operation is part of a wider coordinated effort to ensure the smooth return of Hajj pilgrims following the completion of their sacred journey.

Airlines and Coordination

The spokesperson provided a detailed overview of airline participation in the repatriation process.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) operated eight of the flights, Saudi Airlines managed five, AirBlue flew four, AirSial conducted two flights, and Serene Air handled one.

Despite global aviation challenges, the return operation remains stable due to effective coordination and disciplined passenger handling.

Important Travel Advisory

The Ministry urged pilgrims to maintain order and follow guidelines for a hassle-free return journey.
Passengers have been specifically advised to:

  • Adhere to baggage weight limits listed on their airline tickets

  • Arrive at the Saudi airports 6 to 8 hours before scheduled departure times due to heavy airport congestion

This proactive approach is expected to minimize delays and ensure all returning pilgrims are accommodated in a timely and respectful manner.
