Cambridge to Award Full Marks for Leaked Exam Questions

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly subcommittee on education has rejected Cambridge International’s findings over the recent exam paper leaks.

During a meeting chaired by MNA Sabheen Ghoury, officials from Cambridge Assessment International Education (CIE) admitted to partial leaks in three exam papers.

However, they denied any full paper leak and offered full marks to students for the affected questions.

Leaked Questions Confirmed in Three Subjects

CIE Country Director Uzma Yousuf confirmed that one question from AS & A Level Mathematics Paper 12 was leaked.

Parts of two questions from Paper 42 and one from Computer Science Paper 22 were also compromised.

Officials claimed there was no indication that entire papers were leaked in advance.

To compensate, Cambridge will give full marks for the leaked questions to all students.

But committee members were unsatisfied and called the investigation inconclusive.

They expressed concern that no individuals were held accountable and no mechanism failure was explained.

Students Urged to Demand Clarity and Fairness

MNA Ghoury emphasized that affected students deserve transparency and justice.

She urged CIE to hold consultations with parents and students before the next committee session on June 30.

While the committee does not recommend a retake, it insists that students who choose to reattempt exams in October should not be charged any fee.

Final recommendations will be shared with the main standing committee.
