Islamabad: The federal government has announced a reduction of Rs22 per litre in the prices of both petrol and diesel, offering relief to consumers.
According to an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the revised rates will take effect immediately. The decision has been taken to ease financial pressure on the public and help curb the impact of rising living costs.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that providing relief to citizens remains a key priority of the government, adding that efforts are underway to ensure that the benefits of economic stability reach the general public.
In the international market, crude oil prices also showed a downward trend. Brent crude fell by $1.46 per barrel to $92.25, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) declined by $0.73 to $88.17 per barrel.
