KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has announced that he will personally take responsibility for the funeral and burial arrangements of late actress Humaira Asghar, whose body was recently discovered after nearly nine months.
Addressing the media, Governor Tessori expressed deep sorrow over the incident and said, “Just as I stand with ordinary citizens in their time of grief, I consider Humaira Asghar my sister. If her family does not come forward to perform the last rites, I will ensure she receives a respectful burial.”
He further directed the Governor House’s imam to be prepared to lead the funeral prayer, should the need arise.
“We know how to respect our mothers, sisters, and daughters,” he added. “The fact that the body of a young woman remains unclaimed for months is a tragic reflection on our society.”
Governor Tessori confirmed that all costs and logistical arrangements for the funeral will be covered by his office to ensure the late actress is laid to rest with dignity.
Humaira Asghar’s body was reportedly found in a decomposed state, raising serious questions and prompting an ongoing investigation by law enforcement authorities.
