ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) reaffirmed their commitment to regional peace and expanded cooperation across key sectors during the 12th session of the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) held in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
The high-level meeting was co-chaired by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and UAE’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Major Agreements and Sectoral Expansion
The two sides reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations and signed several significant agreements.
These included MoUs on visa exemption and investment promotion, as well as a major agreement on artificial intelligence and the digital economy.

Areas of cooperation extended to trade, banking, energy, climate change, food security, culture, education, and healthcare.
A working group meeting, led by SAPM Tariq Bajwa and UAE’s Minister of
State Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, laid the groundwork for the formal session.
The commission emphasized enhanced institutional coordination and follow-up through dedicated sectoral working groups.
Mutual Vision for Regional Stability
Held in a spirit of brotherhood, the meeting also covered pressing regional and global developments.
Both countries expressed strong alignment on maintaining peace and stability in the region.
A procedural protocol was signed to support ongoing collaboration and future reciprocal visits.
The two nations agreed to hold the 13th JMC session in Pakistan at a mutually convenient time, reinforcing their long-standing strategic partnership.
