Terrorism in Pakistan is part of India’s strategy: Pakistan Army Spokesperson

Rawalpindi — Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the spokesperson for the Pakistan Army, has asserted that India is systematically using state-sponsored terrorism as a deliberate policy tool against Pakistan, with a particular focus on destabilizing the country’s Balochistan region.

In an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera, the DG ISPR stated that India not only supports terrorist activities within Pakistan but also provides financial backing to these groups. He emphasized that Pakistan has consistently informed the international community about this issue and presented substantial evidence to support its claims.

Lieutenant General Chaudhry pointed to a recent bombing in Waziristan, which resulted in the martyrdom of 16 soldiers and injuries to over 20 others. The banned organization Fitna-ul-Khawarij (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack, which he alleged was carried out under Indian patronage and support.

He explained that the term “Khawarij” refers to armed factions attacking the state and the armed forces of Pakistan. According to him, this Fitna-ul-Khawarij represents an old, misleading ideology that goes against both Islam and humanity. He stressed that, according to Islamic teachings, the authority to wage jihad or combat lies solely with the state, not with individuals or groups.

The DG ISPR revealed that terrorists backed by India are referred to as “Fitna-ul-Hindustan” within Pakistan and are particularly active in Balochistan. He identified Ajit Doval, India’s National Security Advisor, as the mastermind behind this network. He also noted that countries including the United States and Canada have acknowledged India’s role in state-sponsored terrorism.

During the interview, Lieutenant General Chaudhry reiterated Pakistan’s political and diplomatic support for Iran, which is currently facing Israeli aggression. He stated that Pakistan views any aggression against Muslim nations as a serious threat to regional peace.

Responding to a question about Pakistan’s nuclear program, he affirmed that the program is entirely secure, responsibly managed, and invulnerable. He warned that no force dares to target Pakistan’s nuclear assets.
