Only State Can Declare Jihad, Affirms ISPR DG

ISLAMABAD: Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif, Director General of the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), clarified that the authority to declare jihad rests solely with the state.

No individual or group holds the right to declare it independently.

Emphasis on National Unity and Religious Equality

Speaking at a meeting with representatives of diverse religious and social groups in Karachi, the ISPR DG highlighted that followers of all religions in Pakistan are equal citizens.

He stressed that constitutional rights protect every community, and maintaining national unity depends on equality and harmony across all segments of society.

Addressing Security and National Challenges

Lieutenant General Sharif pointed to India as the source behind terrorism in Pakistan and underscored that the

Pakistan Army is combating threats with modern warfare strategies.

He condemned ethnic and linguistic hatred as ignorance, affirming that unity among all Pakistanis is essential for national strength and resilience.
