Balochistan Budget 2025-26 Lauded as Public-Centric Milestone

ISLAMABAD: Balochistan Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani hailed the 2025-26 provincial budget as a major milestone in Balochistan’s journey toward sustainable development and welfare-focused governance.

During his post-budget address in the Balochistan Assembly, the finance minister expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, the provincial cabinet, and all lawmakers for their collaborative role in preparing what he described as a balanced and people-centric budget.
He emphasized that the unanimously approved budget features a comprehensive set of development schemes designed to resolve deep-rooted public issues and improve everyday life across the province.

Focus on Services and Infrastructure

Nosherwani outlined a strategic framework focused on expanding access to essential services.

“This budget targets both urban and rural populations with plans to improve education, healthcare, and access to clean drinking water,” he said.

He added that these initiatives aim to deliver services “right to the doorstep of the people,” demonstrating the government’s resolve to uplift living standards across all regions.

He noted that the continued support and expansion of the Sehat Card health initiative was a “revolutionary step in public healthcare,” enabling thousands of citizens to receive free medical treatment.

Substantial funds have been allocated to broaden the program’s reach even further in the coming fiscal year.

Long-Term Vision for Growth

Highlighting long-term investment goals, Nosherwani — who also heads the mines and minerals department — stated that water-related development would remain a top priority.

He emphasized that water projects are being designed as sustainable solutions for water-stressed communities throughout the province.

“Our goal is not just resource management, but investing in the future of Balochistan,” the minister affirmed.
