Bilawal Urges Pak-India Dialogue for Lasting Peace

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has called for renewed dialogue between Pakistan and India to resolve longstanding issues, including Kashmir, terrorism, and water disputes.

Speaking to the media in Brussels after meeting Bernd Lange, Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on International Trade, Bilawal stressed that war is not a solution and that peaceful engagement is essential.

Dialogue as the Path to Peace

Bilawal highlighted that Pakistan’s delegation conveyed a message of peace and stability to the European Union, emphasizing that tranquility is vital for enhancing trade and regional prosperity.

He criticized India’s recent actions concerning the Indus Water Treaty as a serious breach of international law, underscoring the EU’s commitment to upholding global agreements.

Regional Tensions and EU Support

Addressing recent tensions, Bilawal accused India of aggression against Pakistan, violating international norms.

Minister for Climate Change Musadik Malik supported Bilawal’s stance, stating that India cannot legally abandon the Indus Water Treaty unilaterally.

Former ambassador Jalil Abbas Jilani expressed optimism that the EU would support Pakistan in retaining its GSP Plus trade privileges.
