PM Shehbaz Performs Umrah, Prays for Pakistan’s Triumph

ISLAMABAD: During his official two-day visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif performed Umrah at the Haram-i-Kaaba on Thursday night, accompanied by Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal General Asim Munir and senior members of his delegation.

The gates of the Kaaba were specially opened for the Pakistani leaders, a rare honor reflecting the depth of bilateral ties.

Prime Minister Shehbaz offered special prayers for Pakistan’s success in the ongoing Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, regional peace, and the prosperity of the Muslim ummah—especially the oppressed communities in Gaza and Indian-occupied Kashmir.

He also thanked Allah for Pakistan’s economic recovery and its strength in countering recent provocations from India.

A Symbolic and Strategic Visit

The visit, held at the invitation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, highlights the enduring partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

The Prime Minister’s entourage included Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, all of whom joined in the pilgrimage.

This spiritual and diplomatic mission reaffirms shared values between the two nations, rooted in faith, history, and mutual respect.

The Foreign Office stated that the Umrah underscored “the deep-rooted, time-tested ties” between the countries.

Unity, Vision, and Future Cooperation

In addition to religious observances, the visit aims to further enhance cooperation in trade, investment, and regional diplomacy.

Both sides are expected to align their development goals under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and Pakistan’s economic roadmap.

Prime Minister Sharif is also expected to formally express appreciation to the Saudi leadership for its supportive role in easing recent tensions between Pakistan and India, and for championing Muslim causes globally.
