Trump clarifies India-Pakistan conflict, claims ‘8 aircraft were downed’

Miami : US President Donald Trump recently addressed the number of aircraft downed during the India-Pakistan conflict, clarifying that a total of eight aircraft were shot down, refuting media reports that either suggested seven or as few as one aircraft was damaged.

Speaking at the Miami Business Forum, Trump criticized conflicting media reports, noting that one outlet claimed only seven aircraft had been downed, while another suggested that just one aircraft had been damaged. He dismissed these reports as inaccurate and largely unverified.

“In reality, eight aircraft were downed during the India-Pakistan conflict,” Trump confirmed, adding that the conflict between the two nuclear-armed nations was averted thanks to American diplomatic efforts, particularly the use of tariffs as a tool to de-escalate the situation.

In addition to his remarks on international affairs, Trump also commented on the recent election of Zuhair Mamdani as the new mayor of New York. Trump expressed concern over Mamdani’s left-wing ideology, criticizing the city’s choice and stating that New Yorkers had “lost their sovereignty” by electing a mayor with communist leanings. He questioned what actions Mamdani would take as mayor, saying, “We want New York to succeed, but we will also see what Mamdani’s actions mean for the city.”
