Google Drive introduces built-in video editing feature for workspace users

California: Google has launched a new built-in video editing feature in Google Drive to enhance user convenience. With this update, users can now trim videos, add text overlays, and include background music directly within Drive—without needing any third-party editor or downloads.

This feature has been rolled out for Google Workspace users starting August 21, 2025, and will gradually become available to all users over the next two weeks.

The new functionality is expected to save time and streamline workflows, especially for those who regularly collaborate or edit media on the cloud. Google’s move is being seen as a significant step toward making video editing more accessible and integrated within its productivity tools.
