Trump backs strikes on Iran, says attack stopped nuclear threat

Washington : Speaking at a roundtable meeting, US President Donald Trump defended the recent military operations against Iran, asserting that without US intervention, Iran could have developed nuclear weapons within just two weeks.

Trump stated that these strikes have successfully blocked Iran’s nuclear ambitions and significantly set back the country’s progress in this area. He noted that Iran had withdrawn from the nuclear deal four years ago, prompting a series of targeted actions against its leadership, which eliminated key figures seeking positions of power.

The president also emphasized that US forces have limited ongoing violence in the region and positioned the United States strongly in the conflict, surpassing expectations on the battlefield. Trump remarked, “When asked to rate our performance out of 10, I said 15.”

He further highlighted that US operations had destroyed Iranian missiles and launch systems, accusing Iran of threatening not only neighboring countries but also America’s allies. Trump criticized the nuclear agreement signed during former President Barack Obama’s administration, calling it harmful due to the extensive concessions it had granted Iran.
