Jerusalem / Tehran (Web Desk): Confusion has erupted following reports from Israeli media claiming that Ali Larijani, a senior Iranian official, was the target of a covert overnight airstrike.
Israeli sources described the operation as a precise “targeted strike” aimed specifically at Larijani, who currently serves as Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and is considered a pivotal figure in Tehran’s political and strategic circles. The strike was reportedly intended to disrupt Iran’s decision-making by hitting one of its most influential policymakers.
Israeli outlets portrayed the operation as intelligence-driven and highly strategic, focusing on Iran’s top leadership. However, no official confirmation has come from Israeli authorities regarding the strike or its outcome.
Meanwhile, Iranian media have strongly denied that Larijani was harmed. They released a handwritten note purportedly from him, signaling that he remains alive, although the timing and authenticity of the note have not been independently verified.
As it stands, there is no definitive information about Larijani’s condition. Media reports remain contradictory, with some suggesting he may have been injured, while others indicate he is safe. The absence of verified details has added to uncertainty and speculation.
Iranian officials, including the government and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), have yet to issue any public statement addressing the Israeli claims, further fueling debate about the scale and impact of the alleged strike.
This development occurs amid heightened regional tensions, where a confirmed attack on a senior Iranian leader could have serious geopolitical repercussions. Analysts warn that any verified strike might trigger retaliatory measures, escalating instability across the Middle East.
