Doha: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Qatar on Thursday as part of a three-nation diplomatic visit aimed at deepening Pakistan’s international partnerships and promoting peace efforts across the Middle East.
This stop in Doha represents the second phase of his April 15–18 foreign tour, following earlier engagements in Saudi Arabia. The visit comes amid Pakistan’s continued efforts to strengthen diplomatic outreach in response to evolving regional dynamics.
Upon arrival at Doha International Airport, the prime minister and his delegation were received by Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi. A formal guard of honour was also presented by the Qatar Armed Forces in recognition of the visit.
The airport and several parts of the city were decorated with Pakistani flags, reflecting the close and friendly ties between Islamabad and Doha.
During his stay, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to hold a meeting with Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The discussions will focus on enhancing bilateral cooperation and exchanging perspectives on regional and global peace initiatives.
The prime minister is accompanied by a senior delegation that includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, and the Prime Minister’s spokesperson for international media Mosharraf Zaidi.
