Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met the Ambassador of China, Jiang Zaidong, on Thursday, where both sides discussed the changing situation in the Middle East and Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to support peace in the region.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Planning and Development Dr. Ahsan Iqbal, Information Minister Ataullah Tarar, Special Assistant Syed Tariq Fatemi, and Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch.
During the talks, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed warm greetings and best wishes for Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang.
He expressed satisfaction over the consistent progress in Pakistan-China relations and said that Pakistan deeply values its “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” with China, considering it a matter of great pride.
The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to further strengthen cooperation with China across all sectors and at all levels.
Ambassador Jiang Zaidong thanked the prime minister for the cordial reception and appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for peace and stability in the region through diplomacy.
He also reiterated China’s commitment to its strong and enduring friendship with Pakistan, emphasizing continued cooperation in line with President Xi Jinping’s vision for an even closer partnership.
