Army Officer Among Four Soldiers Martyred, 12 Terrorists Killed in KP and Balochistan Operations

ISLAMABAD: Security forces conducted intense counter-terrorism operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, successfully neutralizing 12 terrorists while sacrificing four brave soldiers, including a young army officer, in the line of duty.

The operations targeted Indian-sponsored militant groups trying to destabilize the region.

Fierce Encounter in North Waziristan

On the night of May 28-29, militants linked to Indian-backed groups attempted a surprise attack on a security forces check post in the Shawal area of North Waziristan.

The troops, prepared and alert, responded swiftly and decisively. In the resulting exchange of fire, six terrorists were killed, but the engagement came at a high cost.

Lieutenant Daniyal Ismail, aged 24 from District Mardan, led his troops from the front with great courage and was martyred during the clash. Alongside him, Naib Subedar Kashif Raza (42), Lance Naik Fiaqat Ali (35), and Sepoy Muhammad Hameed (26) also laid down their lives defending the post. Meanwhile, in Chitral District, another terrorist was eliminated in a separate operation.

Operations in Balochistan Yield Success

In Balochistan, intelligence-led operations targeted terrorists linked to the Indian proxy group “Fitna al Hindustan.” Security forces engaged militants in two locations.

In Loralai district, four terrorists were killed during a fierce encounter, with weapons, ammunition, and explosives recovered from the site.

These militants were involved in past terrorist attacks on the N-70 highway that resulted in the deaths of 30 innocent civilians.

Another terrorist was neutralized in Kech District in a separate operation. The military emphasized ongoing sanitization efforts to ensure the elimination of all remaining threats. The sacrifices of the soldiers have strengthened the resolve of the security forces to continue their fight against terrorism.
