DPM Dar in Beijing to co-chair 7th strategic dialogue with China

Beijing: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will co-chair the seventh session of the China-Pakistan Strategic Dialogue, which is set to begin on Sunday in Beijing. This two-day meeting will focus on reviewing cooperation across various sectors, exploring new collaboration opportunities, and further enhancing the enduring “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” between the two nations.

The dialogue underscores the deep and steadfast friendship between Pakistan and China, often referred to as the “ironclad friendship.”

The Strategic Dialogue is the highest-level consultative platform between the two countries, providing a structured forum to assess the full spectrum of bilateral relations. Economic and trade ties continue to form the core of this relationship, with China’s General Administration of Customs reporting that bilateral trade hit $23.06 billion in 2024, reflecting a growth of 11.1% compared to the previous year.

Earlier today, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar arrived in Beijing, where he was warmly received by China’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Yue Xiaoyong, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to China.

During his visit, Ishaq Dar will also participate in events commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China, with both nations planning a series of initiatives throughout the year to celebrate this milestone.
