ABU DHABI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled its latest player rankings across Test, One-Day International (ODI), and T20 International formats, with several Pakistan players witnessing changes in their standings.
In the updated Test batting rankings, Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have each dropped one position. Rizwan is now placed 19th, while Babar has moved down to 20th. England batter Joe Root has surged to the number one position among Test batters.
The Test bowling rankings also saw a slight setback for Pakistan, with spinner Noman Ali slipping from sixth to seventh place. New Zealand pacer Matt Henry has risen to the summit of the Test bowling rankings, becoming the world’s top-ranked Test bowler.
Henry’s achievement marks a significant milestone, as he becomes only the third New Zealand player in the past 36 years to reach the number one position in ICC’s Test bowling rankings.
In ODI cricket, Babar Azam has successfully held on to his sixth-place ranking among batters. New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell continues to lead the ODI batting charts as the top-ranked batter in the format.
Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed remains firmly placed at second position in the ODI bowling rankings, while Shaheen Shah Afridi has retained his eighth spot.
In the T20 International rankings, Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan has maintained his third-place standing among batters. On the bowling side, Abrar Ahmed continues to occupy third place, whereas Mohammad Nawaz has slipped one position and is now ranked 12th in the latest T20I bowling rankings.
