Former Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed has been sentenced to 14 years of hard labor following a lengthy legal process under the Pakistan Army Act. The Field General Court Martial (FGCM), which lasted for 15 months, concluded with Hameed being found guilty on multiple charges.
The trial, which began on August 12, 2024, involved four serious accusations against Hameed. These included interference in political activities, violation of the Official Secrets Act, misuse of official authority and resources, and causing harm to individuals.
The FGCM found Hameed guilty of all charges after a comprehensive legal procedure. Throughout the process, he was granted full legal rights, including the ability to choose his own defense team.
Following the ruling, the Pakistan Army confirmed that Hameed has the right to appeal the decision in the appropriate legal forum.
Additionally, the ISPR noted that separate investigations are ongoing regarding allegations related to political interference and incitement.
