Multan: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz took to the skies for an aerial inspection of flood-affected zones in Multan and Jalalpur Pirwala, where heavy monsoon rains have caused significant destruction. She closely monitored the widespread damage and directed local authorities to accelerate rescue and relief operations to assist displaced families promptly.
Maryam Nawaz stressed the urgency of providing immediate aid, including food supplies, medical assistance, and temporary shelters, to those impacted by the flooding. She urged government agencies to enhance coordination and work tirelessly to mitigate the suffering of flood victims.
Simultaneously, Pakistan Peoples Party leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari visited the critical flood-prone Moria Loop embankment in Larkana, Sindh. He was briefed on the current water levels and the preventive measures being taken to reinforce flood defenses.
Expressing deep concern over the escalating flood threats, Bilawal called for enhanced collaboration between federal and provincial authorities to manage the crisis effectively. He acknowledged the dedication of rescue teams and emphasized the need for sustained support for affected communities.
These high-level visits underscore the severity of the flooding situation across Pakistan as monsoon rains continue to challenge the region. Both Punjab and Sindh administrations face mounting pressure to deliver swift humanitarian aid and restore normalcy to the devastated areas.
