Islamabad :Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman and former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has delivered a firm message on Pakistan’s ongoing war against terrorism, declaring that the country remains unyielding and committed to eliminating extremism at all costs.
Unmatched Sacrifices in the War on Terror
Speaking at the international forum titled “Pakistan’s Fight Against Terrorism – For the World,” Bilawal underscored Pakistan’s unparalleled sacrifices in combating terrorism — with the nation having lost over 92,000 lives including civilians and security personnel over the past two decades. He credited operations like Zarb-e-Azb and Radd-ul-Fasaad for dealing crippling blows to terrorist networks.
“The very backbone of terrorism lies in ruins. Pakistan knows no word like surrender,” he proclaimed.
A Call for Global Cooperation
Bilawal appealed to the international community to strengthen partnerships with Pakistan, emphasizing that terrorism is a global menace that requires united action. Despite standing on the frontline, he stressed Pakistan’s need for more strategic and diplomatic support.
Digital Warfare: The New Battlefield
Highlighting the modern dimensions of conflict, Bilawal pointed out the rising threat of digital propaganda and misinformation campaigns that seek to destabilize Pakistan’s image and security.
Concerns Over Cross-Border Attacks
Addressing regional security, Bilawal expressed grave concerns over a 40% increase in attacks launched from Afghanistan since the Taliban’s return, urging the Afghan interim government to honor the Doha Agreement and prevent its soil from being used for aggression against Pakistan.
Message to India: Engage in Peace Talks
Turning to India, Bilawal emphasized that lasting peace hinges on addressing the Kashmir dispute through dialogue. He also warned India to desist from weaponizing water resources, calling it a dangerous trend that threatens regional stability.
Youth: Pakistan’s Future
Concluding his speech, Bilawal highlighted Pakistan’s youthful population — making up 65% of the nation — and called for investment in education, digital infrastructure, and employment to empower the new generation and drive the country forward.
